What Orbis and this website store and send, in plain terms. This is a pre-release; the page describes the current build.
The app on your PC
- Your project files are read in place. The app does not upload them to a server of ours.
- It keeps its own settings, the list of recent projects and the chat assistant's working files in a per-user folder under
%APPDATA%. - Telemetry is not collected in this version. Usage and diagnostic reporting is being designed separately and is not part of this build.
The AI chat
- The chat runs through the agent you choose: Claude Code, signed in with your own Claude account, or Codex, signed in with your own ChatGPT account. We do not receive your conversations or sign-in.
- To answer a question, the agent sends the text of the conversation, including the project excerpts it read, to its provider under your account: Anthropic for Claude Code, OpenAI for Codex. That provider's terms and privacy policy apply to that traffic. Think about what a project contains before you ask about it.
Updates and downloads
- The app asks this website whether a newer version exists, and downloads it from here. Like any web request, that exposes your IP address and the app version to the website's host, Cloudflare. We do not use it for anything else.
- The download page and the installer script work the same way.
This website
- No cookies and no analytics. Fonts and scripts are served from this website.
- The email field uses Cloudflare Turnstile to stop automated sign-ups. Its script is loaded only when you click into the field.
Your email, if you leave it
- It is optional. You do not need it to download or use the app.
- We store the address and the time of sign-up in Cloudflare's database service, and nothing else about you: no IP address, no browser details.
- It is used only to tell you about new versions. To have it removed, write to the address below.
