What is Orbis
Orbis is a Windows desktop app for controls engineers who work on Rockwell ControlLogix and CompactLogix projects in Studio 5000 Logix Designer. It opens a Logix project (.L5X or .ACD), makes it easy to navigate, and lets an AI agent answer questions about it and propose changes. Every change is reviewed as ladder, rung by rung, before it goes back to Studio 5000.
It is built for the project you inherited and did not write: thousands of tags, dozens of programs, Add-On Instructions and UDTs, and a question such as why a pump stops or where a tag is written.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”- Navigate the project. A project tree, controller and program tags, and routines drawn as graphical ladder, with ST, FBD and SFC routines alongside.
- Ask about it. The agent reads the real project with Orbis tools and answers with the rungs and tags it used, so you can check each claim. See Ask the agent.
- Change it safely. Edits land in a working copy, never in your file. You can edit a rung as text or graphically, or let the agent do it. See Review changes.
- Take it back to Studio 5000. When the changes look right, export them.
Your agent, your account
Section titled “Your agent, your account”Orbis does not include a model. You bring your own agent, Claude Code or Codex, signed in with your own account. With that account, the agent sends the conversation, including the project excerpts it read, to its provider; Orbis does not receive it. Content that goes through Orbis services is kept by default. Read the privacy page.
Status
Section titled “Status”Orbis is a free beta for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). Start with Install Orbis.
